The Saints of Los Angeles?

CBS Sports is reporting that Jim Tucker, the Louisiana’s House Speaker, is saying that their great state doesn’t want to rush in to any deals that would keep The Saints in New Orleans.

He says this knowing that is could mean New Orleans losing their bid to host the 2013 Super Bowl.

It could also cost the city $15 million to break their lease on the New Superdome.

On the upside, if the Saints do leave New Orleans where would they go? Oh, that’s right. Los Angeles is always looking for an NFL team to kick around for a few years until their real city agrees to take them back.

While it would piss off almost every NFL fan in Louisiana, this could be a huge boon for Motley Crue.

Leftwich to Tampa

I’m sure you are all wondering how I feel about Byron Leftwich going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Well, let’s revise that. I’m sure all of you who have working knowledge of my Bucmania are wondering how I feel about Byron being the latest pick up in Tampa Bay’s long list of “new” veteran quarterbacks.

I am psyched.

I’m not just saying that either.

I was PISSED when Gruden insisted on Garcia. Look, I know Garcia was good in his day, but that was in his day. The last couple of years were several years beyond his day.

But Leftwich… I think he is good. I think he is underrated. I think he can still shine. I can’t be the only one that remembers what he did at Marshall? It isn’t just how good he is, it is the kind of leader he is and the fact that he is such a trooper.

Remember that game when he hurt his leg and his teammates carried him on each play on the line of scrimmage?

For the first time I am excited about next season.

Well, that and The Bucs will be up here playing the Redskins on October 4th.

Plaxico Burress Fights the Law (Law Wins)

I think there might be something seriously wrong with Plaxico Burress.

After being released by the New York Giants because of legal troubles he got pulled over and proceeded to cuss at the police officer.

“[Expletive] you,” Burress said, according to the Post. “You can’t open my [redacted] door.”

Then he told the officer that he knew the Sheriff personally and that the arresting officer would be in trouble by the end of his shift.

Well, of course Plaxico knows the Sheriff personally. After five speeding tickets, some concealed weapons charges and shooting yourself in the leg you get around to meeting a lot of people in law enforcement.

I don’t think the officer that pulled Burress over was frightened by the threat. He gave him a $150 speeding ticket.

It was Plaxico’s fifth traffic ticket in Florida in the past six weeks. On March 1st he received tickets for going 60 mph in a 45-mph zone, improper tags, improper lane change and improper window tinting.

I lived in Florida for 20 years and I think I got four tickets all together.

(This is the part where you guys all say “I think I got four tickets.” Come on… Airplane?)

I’m not sure how many points that makes on his license but I think it is fair to say that if you have to go to driving school in Broward County there is a good chance you could end up sitting next to a guy wearing a Super Bowl ring.
