LeBron James’ Deal Of A Lifetime

lebron-james-stripper-offer-new york-knicks

LeBron James was offered a super sweet deal to move to the New York Knicks.

It’s not what you are thinking, because really, he doesn’t need any more money and a “premier” strip club in New York, Scores, knows this.

I just love the fact that it’s a “premier” strip club. Like there is such a thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been in a few, some good, some bad and even some really nice clubs, but I would never call them premier.

Anyhoo, this club, Scores, is offering him something a little different: A lifetime of free lap dances and all the stripper action he can possibly handle. The girls will even wear his jersey on “LeBron James Day,” that is before they take it off of course. And? Free food for life at the club’s steak house.

What a deal!

Stripping coke-whores (no offense ladies) and steak, Mm-mm, that’s two great tastes that taste great together.

Just a couple of things about this.

1. Is he known as a “strip club” kind of guy? LeBron married his high school sweetheart Savannah and has two sons LeBron James Jr. and Bryce Maximus. I just don’t see him having that kind of image. Then again, maybe he and his wife are a little frisky and are down with him getting all the stripper action he can handle. Or perhaps his wife is like the rest of us who think there can be too much of a good thing.

And 2?

I bet Tiger Woods is soooo jealous.

Congress Is Dipping Into Baseball

Congress may be taking on Major League Baseball to ban all smokeless tobacco products during the game. Cause they don’t have anything else to work on, right?

Carlos Perez attempts to chew the Montreal Expos to victory

Sure, tobacco isn’t good for you, but do we need a congressional committee to tell our professional baseball players that they can’t use it during games? It’s going to be difficult to get them to stop. Some players use it as a focus. They put it in their mouth and everything goes away, except the game.

By the by, have you ever tried chewing tobacco (smokeless tobacco)? I have. It’s so disgusting. I tried it and threw up almost instantly over my back wall after I accidentally swallowed some of it. I still get the shivers when I think about it.
Congress wants to get involved because they want to get kids who chew to stop. It seems they think these players could be role models for the youth and think that clamping down on smokeless product will be the impetus for changing bad habits.

A few questions: Do you chew? Would the MLB banning the stuff during games make you quit? Do you think it’s their job to put such a ruling in place? On another note, do your kids chew and do you think it would help them quit?

A Day In The Life Of A New Little Leaguer

atticus little league 2

We signed our oldest up for Little League in February and promptly forgot all about it because well, it was February. Our first practice wasn’t until April and life just got in the way.

Saturday, April 10, was our first game and my son was excited. He’d been to a couple of practices and knew he was going to be great.

The day dawned bright and sunshiny and 33 degrees. Do you know what a bunch of 6-year-old little boys do when it’s 33 degrees outside and they have to stand around the infield waiting for someone to hit the ball? They shiver and complain about how cold they are. At least that’s what my 6-year-old does.

The team we played against were hitters. They hit the ball often and since in-fielding is an acquired skill, they scored quite a few runs. But our boys weren’t to be discouraged. They played their positions. They ran after balls and they swung their bats. They even made some great plays at first, third and by catching a foul ball at home plate.

They did their darnedest to stop the ball even if it meant falling, tripping or getting hit by the ball.

The improvement from the beginning of the game to the end was remarkable. I can’t wait to see how they develop over the season.

… for me love is often in the toughness and the hardness, it’s in the discipline and the competition, it’s in the risk-taking and getting shot down and getting up again. I grow because I’m forced to grow by others who care enough to to compete with me – Michael Gurian

This is the quote I keep running through my head when I see all those little boys out there playing and competing. Not that they are losing, but they are growing every time they compete, win or lose.

Brandon Marshall Is Getting The Heck Out Of Denver

brandon-marshall-miami-denver-broncos-dolphins-trade

Brandon Marshall finally got his ticket out of Denver. Who knew it was going to be  golden? The move to Miami is a great opportunity for him to try something new and make a lot of money at the same time.

It will be a great move for Miami. I bet Dolphins fans are ecstatic. They needed a deep threat for Chad Henne  to throw to and now they have it. Though Marshall only averaged 12.3 yards per reception last year he did have 10 receiving TDs, which is exactly what Miami needs since their four receivers only had six touchdown catches all season.

Denver fans are fit to be tied though. The main question they are asking is: how do you give up a talent like Brandon Marshall?

Denver needed a fresh opportunity to build a team. Marshall was suspended by the Broncos two times last year for insubordination. He was “insubordinate” in training camp and and then prior to the last game of the season he was late for treatment on his hamstring. The treatment was for an injury his team felt he was exaggerating.

That’s not a good sign.

As much as the team needs a great wide receiver they need a great team environment even more. If the team isn’t behind you they won’t protect you. They can’t help it.

Even if you are a star like Marshall, who hasn’t even hit his prime yet, you have to play with the team. Maybe the $50 million over five years will give him the incentive to be more of a team player. If he wants to have a winning team to add to his portfolio then he needs to get it together.

On a side note: Seriously $50 million over five years with a guaranteed $24 million no matter what? There is also $29 million in the first three years.

I hope he does something good with all his money. I would like to see him do more philanthropic work with the community. Charity work with your fraternity is all fine and good, but now that you’re a big star with the big bucks I expect more.

Martina Navratilova Aims For Cancer Recovery

Martina_Navratilova-breast-cancer

Martina Navratilova, one of the all-time tennis greats, is battling breast cancer.

She announced April 7 that she was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ, which is a non-invasive form of breast cancer.

She talked about the scary February day she received the news.

“It was my personal 9/11. I was shocked because I was so sure [the calcification] was benign, and I found out and I was devastated. Physically, I couldn’t think, I couldn’t move. I was useless.”

She said that her four-year lapse in mammogram appointments was a big mistake, but is thankful she returned when she did. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Let’s keep in her in our thoughts and ladies, don’t forget to schedule your next mammogram. Mammograms are recommended every one to two years after 50 years of age.

Dang, I didn’t realize that Martina was over 50.
