Yep, we’re back. For some reason, we’re still talking about college football … and we’re heading into season five (no, we can’t believe it either) of the Carla and Crappy Show.
And boy, what an opening weekend do we have to discuss.
We begin (as always) by making our way-too-early College Football Playoff picks, including some wacky logic and “old man” (Crappy said this himself, I promise!) traditionalism.
Then we get into the actual real-life football games happening this weekend.
Oklahoma vs. Houston (Noon ET, Saturday): A super entertaining matchup to begin what is usually a lackluster timeslot on a typical college football weekend. Crappy still loves Tom Herman; I wonder if Oklahoma will find a defense. (And I get to say one of my favorite names in college football — Samaje Perine — in the first episode!).
Alabama vs. USC (8 p.m. ET, Saturday): So. Many. Storylines. Alabama doesn’t have a quarterback. (Stop us if you’ve heard that one before.) USC does … but does it have a defensive line? Also, Lane Kiffin.
Florida State vs. Ole Miss (8 p.m. ET, Monday): While we weren’t sure when this game was scheduled to be played (our bad, sorry), we *did* know that it’s must see TV this weekend. Off-the-field drama plagues both teams. Will they be able to put it behind them to play an actual game?
So, as always, sit back and enjoy this long holiday weekend of college football. And maybe find some barbecue while you’re at it. I hear Crappy has some excellent recommendations …
