Gruden Signs on for 5 More Years of Monday Night Football

Jon Gruden has signed a contract extension with ESPN committing him to five more seasons of Monday Night Football.

I couldn’t be happier.

Well, I mean, I’d be happier if the Bucs won the Super Bowl again or if someone gave me one million dollars, but I am really super happy.

Call me a homer. I’m okay with it, but Gruden is a damn fine color commentator and he knows his football. He knows the players and he knows the game. Jon Gruden has energy and as much as I love John Madden, Gruden generally sticks to the topic at hand even when the game itself gets boring.

Plus he is dreamy.

You can call him Chucky all day long, but he’s got a sort of angry Sting thing going on and I like that.

I also like a guy who knows more bad words than I do.

Shut up. Yes, I know I have problems.

Oh, and he won that one Super Bowl. That was awesome.

I don’t care if you love him or just like him as a friend, at least ESPN and I agree that he is a heck of an announcer. Here’s to five more years!

Sting? No way. (Gratitude for that Super Bowl is apparently a blinding thing.)

  2. Really? You don’t see it?

Yes, the glare off of the Lombardi Trophy is blinding for sure.

    I looked at him tonight.

You are very kind to him, probably kinder to him than anyone, and he should give you a special prize. That’s all I’ll say about that.
