What is wrong with the Cincinnati Bengals?
I have heard of teams asking stupid questions when interviewing draft prospects before, but the Bengals crossed the line with Geno Atkins.
“The only unusual question I got was if I was straight or gay,” said new Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins. “And that was about it.”
1) Not only is it none of their business and completely unrelated to his ability to play football, I’m pretty sure that that question goes against federal employment laws.
2) Do they ask everyone that? If so, does the answer matter?
3) If you thought you would not get a job that paid hundreds of thousands of dollars if you told them you were gay, wouldn’t you just lie?
I’m not saying Geno Atkins is or isn’t gay. I’ve never met the man, and I couldn’t care either way, I am just pointing out an obvious flaw in the question.
4) Even if a man’s sexual orientation could be a factor in 2010 the question is personal and rude. Do they ask prospects if they are virgins? Do they ask how big their cocks are? Do they ask about their political views? I’m guessing not.
The Cincinnati Bengals need to be more concerned with drafting future felons than they need worry about if a potential employee likes doing it with dudes. Now they have to worry about the Hamilton County Police AND the ACLU.

Kinda like asking Dez Bryant if his mother is a hooker. I can understand not wanting bad pres for your team, but I could think of many different ways to ask a player these questions.
Wow. Just…wow. And like you said, how in the name of all that is holy will that possibly effect his performance on the field?
Domestic violence – whatevs; prison time for gun related stuff – no prob; maybe possibly being gay better check – FULL STOP! Seriously people. They should have to forfeit the upcoming season for that bullshit.
