No mo’ Nomo

Today Hideo Nomo announced his retirement.

I think I can safely speak for all of you when I say…

“Hideo Nomo was still pitching?!”

(The answer is no, not really. He was released by the “pitching rich” Kansas City Royals in April. It just took Nomo this long to figure out that being released by the Royals pretty much is the end of your career.)

Some One Please

Tell Brett Favre that it’s over.

Please.

At least we know what all the crying was about when he retired.

You’re old sweetie, and you can’t cut it anymore. We still love you, and you did a good job. But seriously, let it go. You’re gonna get hurt and we don’t want that.

Now, go sell cars with Dan Marino.

Football Players Never Do This

Yes, I’m reading about soccer on the religion page. Is this what MLS drives people to?

Tony Gonzalez is a Hero

I don’t mean Tony Gonzalez is just a football hero.

He is a real life hero.

He saved some guy’s life in a restaurant in Huntington Beach.

This wasn’t even about money or football tickets or anything. He didn’t carry him out of a burning building or do an emergency tracheotomy.

Nope. He saw a guy choking and he gave him the Heimlich maneuver.

Just like in a movie.

I guess he really does have good hands.

OW! OW! OW! OW!

Arizona Catcher Chris Snyder “Fractures” Left Testicle

Snyder was hit by a foul ball off the bat of Milwaukee outfielder Corey Hart in the fourth inning. Snyder was diagnosed with a left testicular fracture and will have surgery on Wednesday.

According to
eMedicine.com, a testicular rupture or fractured of the testis refers to a rip or tear in the tunica albuginea resulting in extrusion of the testicular contents.

As of Tuesday Snyder was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

15-days? That’s it? If that doesn’t scream “retirement” I don’t know what does.
