Never boring in the World of Sports

So. I woke up this morning and when I checked my reader I found these gems.

Danica Patrick hit a crew member – with her car.

A safety for the Florida Gators used a dead woman’s credit card for gas – several times
. Jamar Hornsby started charging things the day after she was killed in a motorcycle accident. Charming. (He was kicked off the team.)

Willie Andrews pled guilty to a drug charge
. When he was pulled over he was holding
$6,800 in cash on him and a half pound of marijuana.

Aren’t athletes awesome?

Now THAT is a SuperFan

This 12 year old kid that lives in Connecticut just took off his Brett Favre jersey.

It doesn’t sound like a big deal until you realize that he has been wearing it every single day since Christmas 2003.

(Don’t panic. His mom washed it a lot.)

Still.

I bet that Connecticut Pats fans loved that.

Look, pretty much everybody likes Brett Favre. At least a little bit. But WOW. He wore the same shirt for four years.

And I thought is was freakish that my son is very attached to his white socks with blue on the heels and he wants to wear them every day.

And we have six pairs of those.

David Witthoft wore the Packers jersey for 1851 days in a row. Now that is a commitment. Or OCD.

John Bale is a Freaking Genius

Lefty and smarty pants (and also a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals) punched a door at his hotel on Friday night and broke his pitching hand.

*snort*

Dude. Your Mom told you not to punch doors.

The poor guy idiot was already on the DL.

Seriously, this is stupider than when Brian Griese got hurt when he tripped over his dog.

(That still makes me laugh. A lot)

Anyway – good work Bale. I hope you went to college because you just screwed up your first career choice.

Two New Bowl Games

Because 32 bowl games just weren’t enough.

Yep. They have approved 34 College Bowl games for next year… or this year… you know what I mean!

Next season.

Normally I would just roll my eyes at this information and let it go except now there is a bowl game in Washington DC.

Woo Hoo! Maybe I’ll get to see UCF play this year after all. I mean, we usually score a fairly low level bowl game.

Don’t look at me like that. Why what college did YOU go to?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. With 34 bowl games we should all be seeing our schools play this year.

** I don’t mean to say that I don’t think the BCS is bullshit. Because I do. I’d rather see some sort of playoff system, but alas, it is not to be.
