Local sports on Draft Day Suit? Why not… I can put something on my sports blog about my niece’s 12-under girls softball team winning the state “Land of Lincoln” title this past weekend.
So here’s a “shout-out” of congratulations to the Limestone 12-under girls softball team (featuring my niece – the catcher) for winning this past weekend’s NSA Land of Lincoln championship title.
The dynamic duo of their ‘Ace’ pitcher and their ‘Ace’ catcher – my niece – led their team to victory with a pitcher/catcher relationship that is usually reserved for the major-leagues.
Their pitcher racked up a 6-1 record during the tournament, struck-out 46 batters and hit .722 in the tournament while the catcher (did I mention she’s my niece?), worked behind the plate for all the games, threw out about 30% of basestealers and had a batting average above the .650 mark.
I am extremely proud of her and her team… they lost a heartbreaker Sunday (their first and only loss) and followed it with three straight victories (including one against the team the initially loss to, who had some fans that made major league ‘boo-birds’ look like afternoon tea with the queen)
Congratulations team!!! Woot,woot!!
